The Hope Centre is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of
psychotherapist (30 hrs per week) for our Return 2 Hope Counselling program. The
psychotherapist responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining related records, reports and statistical data in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Conducting, interpreting and reviewing client assessment results.
  • Building strong relationships with the client and other interdisciplinary healthcare workers to maximize the client’s positive experience in treatment.
  • Preparing summary reports to reflect relevant client insights and action plans which may include referrals or resource recommendations.
  • Assisting and screening for stressors and areas of difficulty to make appropriate referral and treatment recommendations.
  • Ensuring all forms of documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Reviewing the literature, scientific studies and staying up to date with any changes or developments in the industry.

The successful individual will be registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a registered psychotherapist or registered psychotherapist (qualifying) Skills and abilities:

  • Commitment to the philosophy of The Hope Centre.
  • Strong counselling skills and the ability to deal with a range of mental health problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to initiate and model positive change with excellent team building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess good stress management skills.
